Not only is Millview Meadow conveniently located within the heart of the Norfolk Broads, we are also within cycling distance of a number of beautiful beaches. With over 90 miles of coastline, half of Norfolk’s overall boundary is next to the water providing endless opportunities for exploring. Here are some of our favourite local beaches:

Winterton-on-sea

Situated just over 6 miles from Millview Meadow, you can reach Winterton beach by bike in just under 30 minutes. The vast expanse of golden sand at Winterton beach is encompassed by the rolling dunes of the National Nature Reserve. It is a popular beach and it does get busy in the summer months, but the long stretch of sand means that it never gets crowded . Complete with a large grassy car park, and a lovely café – Winterton beach is also dog friendly, so you can bring your four-legged friend with you!

Waxham Beach

If you want to visit a more secluded location, head further up the coast to Waxham Beach. Nestled amongst trees and sand dunes,  it’s one of the quieter beachesWhen you step out onto the beach, you’ll see the reefs at Sea Palling to your North, and Waxham Sands and Horsey beach in the distance, to your South. Bear in mind that there are limited amenities close to the beach, so don’t forget your picnic, but if you fancy a bit of peace and quiet then this is the spot for you! During the winter months this is a very popular place to visit the seals and their pups

Great Yarmouth

Fancy something with a bit more going on? Head to Great Yarmouth. Between the two piers separating the expanse of sandy beach, you will find a number of activities that will keep the kids entertained. Visit the amusement arcades , or stroll along Marine Parade – theres lots to do . Visit Great Yarmouth on a warm summer’s evening – a game of crazy golf ,  a trip to the Sea Life Centre and a ride on the famous wooden roller coaster at the Pleasure Beach , finished off with some fish and chips makes a great evening out!
